Our practice is a well established 8 partner firm operating from offices in Glenrothes and Cupar. Carters has grown over the last 45 years as the “new” town of Glenrothes has grown, and as a result we have tremendous experience in helping new and expanding businesses grow to their potential.
Whatever we do for you, we will always carry out our work with the aim of adding value to your business. We provide a tailored service for our clients, making time to really listen and aiming to continually exceed expectations. We work across all sectors, and pool all our resources from audit, tax and financial services to provide professionalism and expertise of ‘big firms’, but with a high level of personal involvement and service.
Background
Carters was established as an accounting practice in Glenrothes in 1964. As one of Scotland's "new towns" the 1960's and 1970's saw tremendous economic growth in the area with many new businesses starting up or relocating to the area. The firm expanded in 2006 with the addition of the long established firm of James Murray & Co, based in Cupar. In 2008 the firm absorbed the Dunfermline office of Rutherford Watson which gave the firm a much more balanced look with offices across the whole of Fife region and giving us the platform to extend our client area beyond Fife into Edinburgh, West Lothian and Tayside.
This has given the practice the ethos of dealing with new and growing businesses to the extent we do not involve ourselves, for example, in receivership or liquidation work. We hope that our involvement with our clients will avoid that eventuality and indeed many of our clients have become very successful. This is very satisfying but to avoid complacency we are always looking at new ways of delivering services and the range of proactive services we offer to our clients.
