Iain currently occupies the heady position of Managing partner. He is also an engagement partner with a full range of clients operating particularly in the engineering, construction and tourism sectors. Considerable experience with company sales and MBO's.

Outside work:
Iain's main occupation out of office hours is as a full-time taxi driver and roadie for his musically talented family. Iain is, not surprisingly, keen on motor sport.

Ian is one of our specialist partners with his main area of responsibility being Information technology. Ian also deals with most of our consultancy work and is very experienced in preparing business plans, grant applications and he is also our lead professional for the Mindshop strategic planning system.

Outside work:
Ian is a fitness machine and a bit of a dare devil. He particularly enjoys scary mountain biking in the Scottish highlands! Ian also enjoys rebuilding old A-Series Citroens and plans to have a van ready for the road this summer.

Stephen is one of our other specialist partners being our tax partner. Stephen heads up our experienced tax team and is mostly involved in tax planning for individuals and businesses.

Outside work:
Stephens' main interests are hacking his way round a golf course and curling. To completely ruin his weekends he is an avid follower of Dunfermline Athletic FC.

Outside work:
As our token Englishman Peter's main interest is flying the flag for St George usually at times of great sporting significance! His main leisure pursuit is walking with his two dogs.

Gordon is also based in our Cupar office and like David is a general practitioner. He is a well known face in the local farming community and deals with many farming clients which is his area of expertise.

Outside work:
Gordon lives in Tayport with his wife and has a grown up son and daughter and also enjoys the company of his three young grandchildren. Gordon spends a large part of his spare time walking the family’s three dogs and he is a keen hill-walker when he gets away from it all.

David is a general practitioner based in our Cupar office. He has a particular interest in tax issues. He deals with a wide variety of clients and is a prominent member of the Cupar business community.

Outside work:
He is married with two grown up daughters and lives just outside Cupar. He is a keen swimmer and when on dry land he plays golf when he has some spare time.

Mark trained with Carters as a Chartered Accountant joining the firm in 1987 and has progressed through the ranks becoming a partner in April 2006. Mark is something of an oddity being an accountant who likes the technical accounting and audit aspects. He deals with a large portfolio of clients based in our Glenrothes office.

Outside work:
Mark lives in Dalgety Bay with his wife and two young daughters. He enjoys playing football and cycling and the biggest flaw in his make up is a passion for the maroon side of Edinburgh’s football teams.

Shirley joined Carters in 1988 and has qualified as a Certified Accountant. Shirley is a general practitioner but has extensive experience with farming co-operatives and owner managed businesses. Shirley also has responsibility for overseeing our training procedures and processes keeping us all up to date.

Outside work:
She lives in Glenrothes and enjoys keeping fit and looking good, which is a marked contrast to her seven male partners!
