Budget 2011

Having experienced "multiple" Budgets in 2010, there is probably little that we don't know about in terms of tax increases facing us for 2011 and beyond. With National Insurance Contributions increasing by 1% across the board, this will make it more costly to create new jobs. Tax relief on pension contributions is being constrained and although we are seeing the personal allowances for Income Tax increasing, it is at the expense of reducing the threshold for higher rate taxpayers, pushing more people into the 40% tax band. Can it get worse or is now the time for the government to get the economy moving?  Will we see changes at this years' Budget to re-vitalise our economy, to encourage business and get some "feel-good" factor back in place?

To find out what is actually announced in the Budget please come along to our annual Budget presentation is being held at Cluny Clays, Cluny, by Kirkcaldy, on Friday 25 March 2011. Full details of the location, date and times are detailed on the fax back reply sheet or, alternatively, e-mail  info@cartersca.co.uk to reserve your place.

Our Tax Partner, Stephen Taylor, will once again lead the presentation at the Seminar.  The aim of the presentation is not only to give you an overview of the Chancellor's proposals but also to identify tax-planning issues and to highlight areas of concern to be addressed.

If you would like to attend our Budget presentation, please fax or post the enclosed reply slip to us, or indeed e-mail us, as soon as possible.  If you are unable to attend the Seminar we would be happy to speak with you individually, at a later date, and carry out a Post Budget Impact Review.
