Ian Donaldson

Experience & specialisms: 
Ian is one of our specialist partners with his main area of responsibility being Information technology. Ian also deals with most of our consultancy work and is very experienced in preparing business plans, grant applications and he is a fully accredited Facilitator for Mindshop International, our strategic planning system.

Outside work:
Ian enjoys cycling both road racing and mountain biking in the Scottish highlands! When he is not falling off his bike he will be falling off his horse, or at least the half he owns!

Stephen  A Taylor

Stephen is one of our other specialist partners being our tax partner. Stephen heads up our experienced tax team and is mostly involved in tax planning for individuals and businesses. Stephen is a member of the ICAS Tax Committee and also on the ICAS Small Business Task Force sub-committee.

Outside work:
Stephen's main interests are trying to reduce his golf handicap and curling. To completely ruin his weekends he is an avid follower of Dunfermline Athletic FC.

Peter Southcott

Experience & specialisms: 
Peter is an engagement partner with an extensive client portfolio across all business sectors. He is also our Forensic Accounting expert and plays a lead role in the promotion and development of our Added Value services.

Outside work:
As our token Englishman Peter's main interest is flying the flag for St George usually at times of great sporting significance! He enjoys dressing up in leather and riding his Triumph motorbike around the country lanes of Fife.

David Hebden

David is a general practitioner based in our Cupar office. He has a particular interest in tax issues. He deals with a wide variety of clients and is a prominent member of the Cupar business community.

Outside work:
He is married with two grown up daughters and lives just outside Cupar. He is a keen swimmer and when on dry land he plays golf when he has some spare time.

Mark Gibson

Experience & specialisms: 
Mark trained with Carters as a Chartered Accountant joining the firm in 1987 and has progressed through the ranks becoming a partner in April 2006. Mark is something of an oddity being an accountant who likes the technical accounting and audit aspects. He deals with a large portfolio of clients based in our Glenrothes office.

Outside work:
Mark lives in Dalgety Bay with his wife and two young daughters. He enjoys working out at the gym and cycling and the biggest flaw in his make up is a passion for the maroon side of Edinburgh’s football teams.

Shirley Dorrian

Position: Partner

Qualifications: Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants

Experience & specialisms: 
Shirley joined Carters in 1988 and has qualified as a Certified Accountant. Shirley is a general practitioner but has extensive experience with farming co-operatives and owner managed businesses. Shirley also has responsibility for overseeing our training procedures and processes keeping us all up to date.

Outside work:
She lives in Glenrothes and enjoys keeping fit and looking good, which is a marked contrast to her seven male partners!
